IPsoft will detect, isolate, notify, and correct faults encountered in the managed devices. Fault detection is accomplished when the devices send SNMP trap messages, SNMP polling, remote monitoring thresholds and syslog messages. IPcenter raises an alert when a fault is reported and corrective actions are taken via autonomic agents or systems administrators.


Incident management practices employed by IPsoft include:

  • Responding to hardware faults and managing parts replacement (break/fix)
  • Escalating to the carrier (AT&T or other) for detected WAN problems
  • Performing complex user-administration functions or MACD (Move, Add, Change, Delete)
  • Remediation of software faults in the environment
