Autodesk Inc. selects IPsoft as managed services provider
NEW YORK, NY (February 3, 2009) Autodesk Inc., the premier developer of two- and three-dimensional design software, has selected IPsoft to be its managed services provider.
IPsoft is monitoring Autodesk’s global infrastructure, including 1500 devices, and providing network management, systems administration and storage management. Autodesk is among the first of IPsoft’s clients to use the new IPcenter v3 management platform, a centralized web-based portal that provides a “dashboard view” of the entire IT operation.
Among other things, the portal allows Autodesk to follow incidents, view alerts and tasks, access ticket archives and monitor progress on problematic devices. Users can configure IPcenter v3 to view the entire environment or specific components. The portal also provides customizable incident and service reporting and device-level performance graphs – tools that help identify minor glitches before they escalate into major problems.
The portal, based on ITIL and Six Sigma best practices, is completely transparent, giving clients the same real-time view of their managed environment as IPsoft’s engineers. The transparency fosters a collaborative environment between provider and client and speaks to IPsoft’s philosophy.
